My name is Geovanni Espinosa, and I want you to live better with age. People have affectionately called me Dr. Geo for decades, so the name stuck. I practice naturopathic and functional medicine to treat urological problems and male-specific conditions. I am also a son of Cuban parents, born and raised in the Bronx, New York, and most importantly, a husband and proud dad of three amazing kids. I enjoy spending as much time with them as possible. When not working with patients or on research, I practice strength training and the Israeli martial art, Krav Maga. In my work, I’m intensely curious about three male biological parts – the prostate, penile health, and testosterone – how they affect our health, longevity, and performance.
- Prostate Cancer (all stages, PSA recurrence after medical treatment, holistic interventions, active surveillance, ADT, hormone therapy)
- Rising PSA– sometimes it’s related to a disease, other times it’s not.
- Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), also known as an enlarged prostate.
- Prostatitis (The chronic type that’s a big pain in the… pelvis)
- Male Sexual Dysfunction (Everything from ejaculating too soon to the inability to rise to the occasion)
- Penis, testicular and scrotal pain
- Urinary frequency, urgency, and nocturia (nighttime urination.)
- Overactive Bladder (Women too)
- Interstitial Cystitis (extreme bladder pain sometimes accompanied by excess urination)
- Board Certified Naturopathic Doctor (ND) – Connecticut license (000392)

No. I am a Naturopathic Functional Medicine (NFM) doctor specializing in urology. I love urologists and admire the excellent work they do. I have the pleasure of working closely with some of the best urologists in the world.
Here’s the difference between urologists and NFM doctors specializing in urology ( like me).
- Urologists treat urological diseases. NFM doctors treat urological diseases by building health.
- Urologists focus on the waist down. NFM doctors focus on the whole body (holistic) and how other parts of the body interact with urological systems.
- Urologists help people by treating the prostate, bladder, and penis. NFM doctors treat people.
- Partner with you, the patient, to identify and treat their disease’s cause, not just mask symptoms.
- Listen carefully to the patient’s story to target the root cause of the health problem.
- All organ systems are connected in a web-like network, and the disease of one organ system is often associated with another.
- Botanicals, nutrition, and holistic methods are powerful tools in healing chronic disease and optimizing human performance.
- Medical treatments are sometimes necessary to treat acute diseases.
- Determine and address the patient’s individual and genetic needs.
- The treatment method combines knowledge of scientific findings and clinical experience.
- You do best when the medical approach is a fine blend of science-based, skill, and art from your doctor.
